What to watch for
- Vegetable oil Low risk
An unnamed plant oil. Fine as energy, but the label does not say which plant it came from. - Iron oxide Low risk
A mineral pigment used to give a brown or red tint. Low concern at the levels used, but purely cosmetic. - Copper sulfate Low risk
A source of copper, an essential trace mineral. Some breeds accumulate copper in the liver, and vets have raised concern that some dog foods supply more than dogs need.
What it does well
- High protein 45.5%
40% or more on a dry-matter basis (cat). - Taurine added
Cats need taurine in their diet; this label lists it.
